Boat Ride on River Yamuna

One of the best things to do in Mathura is to take a ride in one of the gaudily bedecked boats at Vishram Ghat on River Yamuna. But it is a thing to be best done after the monsoons, or, as in my case, some days after incessant rains when the river really swells. Otherwise, as the oarsman Rajaram puts it, "the river resembles a filthy drain."
